INDIA'S STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH CHINA

The term strategic is taken from the military science. Conventionally used for the relation woven around the security, And the conventional view of security is territorial.
The term strategic partnership have come to used in  a big way after the end of cold war. cold war was the bipolar world and the countries used to have military alliances. Present world is world of complex interdependence, And the word 'Alliance' seems 'Anachronistic'.( out dated vis-a-vis time)
The status of ally means the country has to entangled in war even if not directly hit by the country.

The term strategic partnership is more flexible and allow the countries to secure their strategic priorities with freedom as well( not to get entangled)

Here we'll try to penetrate the India China relation little more deeper. So lets bang on....

China is not a source of security rather it is a biggest threat to India. However in present time the concept of security has become multidimensional. It is not just territorial security it also includes social, economic, ecological, energy and political etc. Hence the basis of India China strategic partnership is cooperation at multidimensional platform.

At present it seems there is limited scope of cooperation at multilateral forums. Today the approaches and concern of India and China are differing to considerable extent.

"Ashley Tellis" in his book " CRUX OF ASIA" presented that there is considerable amount of differences between the two countries on:-
1- Asian security
2- South Asian stability
3- Nuclear non proliferation
4- Maritime and cyber security
5- Energy environment and climate change

"John Graver" clearly stated that the conflict between India and China will always continue.
It can end only when either India accept Chinese hegemony in south Asian region or China accept the Indian hegemony.Since the aims are not possible hence they are bound to have conflict.

What is china policy towards India?

China wants to contain India within south Asia. Hence China uses Pakistan. China is trying its best to challenge India's soft power in entire South Asia.

How China looks a India?

"Jeff Smith" wrote in is book "Cold Peace" that china looks at India with disrespect and disinterest.
China doesn't accept India as a Strategic Rival. China doesn't wants its comparison with India.

China officials go for even disrespectful statement for Indian leaders. For Example:-
Mao called Nehru "Running Dog of Imperialist"
now they call India as America's Prostitute.
According to Chinese there can't be two tigers on a same mountain.

Partition of India
